Davey Richards has retired from professional wrestling amid allegations of domestic violence.

The former Ring of Honor and Impact Wrestling star denied the allegations after a number of promotions including Prestige Wrestling, St. Louis Anarchy and Team Ambition Wrestling School – following allegations by former partners , severed ties with him.

In an initial statement to PWInsider, Richards, whose real name is Wesley David Richards, said: There are allegations of domestic violence against me.

“I categorically deny that allegation. If you look up my name Wesley David Richards on MO’s casenet, you will see no charges have been filed against me.

“But I understand the industry’s stance on this matter. Everyone needs to feel safe at the show and I don’t want to be the one that does the damage.

He claims that the photo of the person’s eyes being shared is from “in training” and that “many of the students have black eyes or something like that, so they are trained in martial arts.”

Again, no charges have been filed and I deny these allegations, but I have to do what is right and not what I want.

“This great sport is too great for everyone, including me, to let it get dirty. .

In a subsequent statement to Wrestling Inc., he again denied the allegations, suggesting that “it’s time to step back.”

He said, “I have not been arrested, I have not been charged, and I maintain that these allegations are 100% false.

“Maybe it’s time for me to step aside. I don’t want to influence anyone or any promotion. People need this sport – it belongs to them.” I give you the place you want. I don’t want to be the one who takes it away or hurts it.

“I’m fine and boy I miss you.”
