Nintendo Should Start Making Video Games With Mature Ratings – Reader’s Feature
The reader imagines what happens when: Nintendo I started making games for adults, such as first-person shooters and survival horrors.
I think it’s safe to say that Nintendo is the most respected video game developer in the world, and has been for at least the last 40 years. Other studios come and go, most studios these days he just puts out a new game every five years. The Last of Us Part 3consider that Naughty Dog has two new games to make before that.
There are many ways Nintendo differs from other developers, but one of the things that is less appreciated is how they tackle all genres. As well as making platformers, he’s made everything from sports sims to fighter planes to strategy games to role-playing his players. However, there is one thing that ties them all together. They are all family friendly.
I don’t mean this as a criticism, but it puts a limit on what they can do and that good old Nintendo magic tackled survival horror, first person shooters, or anything with a serious story. It means no. I hope one day they change their minds, for obvious reasons.
Before accusing me of being silly, it’s worth pointing out that Nintendo has dabbled in this sort of idea before. I owe. Bayonetta Both appear in Super Smash Bros. and are still popular today. ultimate. He also designed a remake of Metal Gear Solid and relatively serious action games such as Geist and Disaster: Day Of Crisis.
The problem with all these games, though, is that Nintendo didn’t make them while they were out, except for Bayonetta, if they were made, they would all be so much better. But it’s a real shame because Nintendo itself doesn’t make games like that.
My suggestion is simple. adults only A label for a game that has a mature rating and is clearly made for kids, allowing Nintendo developers to go crazy. I hate to see it, but as far as I’m concerned, it’s even better.
Perhaps they could make a sequel to Eternal Darkness, which I think could be interesting, but what about a realistic first-person shooter that played similarly to Splatoon? Or behind Super Smash Bros. A more serious fighting game that doesn’t feature mascot characters (although the Fire Emblem cast might work) by the same team in .
Or it’s a Zelda-style game, but with a more realistic setting and, even if it’s fantasy, an appropriately complex story. If Nintendo were to take on Sony’s formula third-person action-adventure, what would it be? Imagine a game.
I think the most serious Nintendo in-house developer has ever experienced is Monolith Soft’s Xenoblade game. But what if we took inspiration from Fallout and Mass Effect and did something a little more realistic?
The possibilities are endless and I have no hope of it actually happening, but I hope one day I will be proven wrong. may find that it actually misses a major audience. I think developers will jump at the chance as long as they think they can keep their games out of the reach of children.
It could be like when Disney founded Touchstone Pictures to release a movie that wasn’t family-friendly.
