George Lineker stood firm by his father Gary LinekerHaving been by George’s side throughout the headline-sapping BBC brawl over the past two weeks, on Saturday George jumped to his father’s defense again.

George has publicly endorsed his famous 62-year-old father. sparked a heated debate On the BBC’s fairness rules when he compared home office‘s immigration ship policy to Nazi Germany sparked widespread both praise and criticism on Twitter.

Gary was confirmed last week Back to his Match of the Day hosting dutiesbut obviously not everyone is happy with that.

Responding to a photo of himself back at work Gary shared on Twitter, one person wrote:

George, 31, stood up for his father and answered brilliantly.

George posted a message on his Twitter page, writing, “Social media is crazy. No. It has nothing to do with me.

Gary then wrote to Elon in a public tweet: And I don’t mean grammar.

The BBC has confirmed that Gary has returned to hosting duties on March 13th.

After the news broke, the football icon thanked his colleagues for their solidarity and tweeted:

“I would like to thank my colleagues at BBC Sport for their incredible show of solidarity and the incredible support.Football is a team game and their support has been overwhelming.
