A man from Derbyshire, between him and a developer, unrolled a giant banner above the garage of his home.

Singh said, “They’re ignoring us, but we don’t care. We’re fed up. How can they leave it like this? I talk to them.” And they agree with me, but no one is coming, someone has to come forward.

But Singh claims the design allows water to run down the wall next to the door, leading to dampness and moss growth.

Singh said the toilet seat on the second floor was damaged and the lighting in the ventilation fan was out of order.

Other residents of the street, including Kevin Crisp and his family, claim to have experienced similar problems.

In their home in 2021, they claim a sink issue caused the kitchen worktop to warp and the replacement was too short.

Avant Homes told Derbyshire Live that they are working with a “very small number” of residents of Cotchett Village, off the A516 Etwall Road, to resolve their concerns.

Steven Bosworth, who also lives in the estate, claims his home was riddled with problems when he moved in in 2020.

Another couple who live close to Mr Singh said their experience at Avant Homes was positive.

They said the problem was quickly resolved after the initial Covid-19 lockdown eased that summer.

At that time, the place was not inhabited by many other people, and merchants tended the houses daily.

However, they claim their customer service has “goed downhill” since then.
